If you have the proper tools, a place to lift the truck up high enough, and a mechanical appititude then no it isn't hard to do as most of it is straight remove and replace. The tricks are to make sure the flywheel surface is good and to get it resurfaced if necessary. The other trick is to line up the pilot bearing, clutch disc and throw out bearing before installing the trans. back into the bell housing. Good luck.
