I have a 1990 honda accord with 320,007 miles I have a problem.while i'm driving down the road about 5 to 10 miles the car dies. first the lights go dim, odometer and the speedometer goes "wacko" and then just stay's a zero and then the car dies out. and then when i try to start it it won't start, but the next day it starts right up like nothting happened. As soon as i start to drive it down the road it starts all over again. any ideas on what it is??

I have a 71 Dart that the headlights just stooped working, (parking lights still work), fuses have not blown. Could it be a headlight relay, and where abouts on the car would it be located? Thanks, Scott

I have taken it to dealership, but they say that since it does not happen while in service, there is nothing they can do, it suddenly dies, engine shuts off, while decelerating, then I put car in neutral and it starts again, need help.

well, i dont know a WHOLE lot about cars, but I know a few people that do... anyways, theres a '72 VW beetle, looks like original paint, which is yellow, from what i saw at a distance new interior fabric, and looks pretty cool...
whats good about the old model of beetles. whats bad?
Im in Oklahoma, so I dont really know if anyone can work on it if needed, and it being an old car, would someone i know PERSONALLY have to, or can a pro do it???

i have a 91 pontiac sunbird with a 3.1 v6 3 speed automatic i want to upgrde the shifter to a B&M or hurst shifter anyone know where i can find one to fit my application even if it has to be modified a bit doesnt matter i keep getting told by most places that sell a few of them that they have only sold ones for a rear wheel drive vehicle not a front wheel drive one but if front wheel drive drag cars a race cars have them why shouldnt it work for me holla back if you know of a place

I thank you all for your answers so far. Yes the 4wd on my truck is all electric, all I have to do is turn a knob on the dash. From looking under the truck, it looks like a electric motor ingages the front driver shaft from the transfer case, and yes the hubs are always are ingaged at all times. What ever the noise is, it is not fine because I have this truck for over 3 years now and the 4wd has alway went in and out quiet and never made this much noise.
I mean the noise in 4wd when you go to slow down is so bad sometimes it makes the floor board vibrate.

i got an 02 intrepid thats getting about 15 mpg i replaced plugs,wires,use fuel treatments at least 2 times a month. I am 17 and i do tend to flore it sometimes but not more than 3k so i was wondering if anybody new some tips other than take it easy on acceleration

The reason why I am asking is that I was at my friends shop today and in the shop where two cavalier's one was an 83 and the other was a 2005 I looked under both cars because they where both on the lift and they looked very similar underneath. I want to now if they are both the same platforms or did GM just reuse the same parts on the newer cars?

Recently I have noticed a grinding noise when putting the car in reverse. If there is any decently hard acceleration (having to get over a large bump in a driveway for example), the noise because noticably louder and disconcerning. Also, when shifting into drive after backing up, it appears as though the transmission is slipping and the car will lurch forward after a few seconds. Two days ago, after backing up, the car became very difficult to drive and would jerk around and be very sluggish. This cleared up, but are any of these things connected? If, or if not, what is causing them?

Additionally, I had a pervious post about starting problems which were apparently resolved by replacing the fuel pump. However, less than a month after the work was done, the problems are back. We recently had an ice storm, but it was not that cold and the car has certainly been in colder and more fierce conditions before and performed admirably. The car has almost 100,000 miles on it now.

I have a 1989 Honda prelude automatic 2.0 si i have been having starting problems my car will start then when i go into a store and come back out it wont turn on i have to sit in the car for up to a half hour til it will turn on at times it wont even turn on when it hasn't been turned on in a while i heard it may something called the main relay switch what is that and were is it at in my car? How much does it cost and is it something i have to take in for someone to put in or can i do it and how long does it take can you also tell me what it looks like so i know what i am looking for? When calling for the part what is the correct term is in Main relay switch? do you happen to know how much it cost? i want to thank you for you help

I have a 95 chevy s-10 4.2L v-6 2wd that i would like to convert to manual. would i be able to just go to a scrap yard and pull a manual from another s-10 and pop it in or would i have to replace like the ecu and stuff? any links or help is appriciated.

i tryed to jump it, and nothing happened. all the electrical stuff seems to be working. there is no click at all coming from the starter when you turn the key. i know nothing about cars what so ever... just that mine wont turn on! any suggestion??
