the same thing happened to me, but i didn't have a problem with my speedometer. it was the alternator, and most likely that's the problem with yours, too.

How long a motor vehicle final is extremely based on the upkeep. I very own a ninety 4 Civic with 182k miles. The engine runs like new. I actually have a feeling that it may final yet another 50K to 100K. yet on account that I have been given the motor vehicle, I right this moment observed that the motor vehicle began squeaking (physique squeaks). right here in NYC the roads are truly undesirable. So probably different issues will run out till now my engine does. So it relies upon on various of stuff. yet for my section Honda's can final a protracted time. === in case you extremely need to handle the motor vehicle properly, consistently use man made motor oil. extraordinarily much each and all of the Indy and nascar (actual experts) use man made oil. man made oil face as much as thermal breakdowns and resists sludge construct up (quantity a million and quantity 2 killer of engine). additionally supply the motor vehicle radiator flush as quickly as you get it. Anti-freeze does 2 issues (a million) face as much as freezing (b) face as much as corrosion. old anti-freeze continues to be sturdy at resisting freezing. yet after approximately 2 or 3 years, the anti-corrosion additive is extraordinarily a lot depleted.

check your battery and charging system.....sounds like the alternator is dying and can't keep up to the demand so when the battery finally goes flat, you run out of spark and power for everything else.....after sitting overnight the battery may recover itself a bit just enough to start the car and go that distance.....hope it helps
