I have a 71 Dart that the headlights just stooped working, (parking lights still work), fuses have not blown. Could it be a headlight relay, and where abouts on the car would it be located? Thanks, Scott

I've had 3 Darts and most of the time it's the headlight switch.

If you pull it and look at it, you will probably see some signs of overheating on the back and this is what usually kills them.

The early seventies Mopars had circuit breakers built into the switch, so either way - check the switch.

They're still available and relatively cheap.

The breaker is kicking off simply by overheating, resetting and kicking on. initiate searching for a cord interior the headlight wiring shorting to metallic. The wiring includes the headlight change, dimmer change, and extreme beam indicator. Had an identical situation in a '70 Charger, got here across a cord in simple terms inches faraway from the fuse panel shorting to the sprint framework. it must be terrific to start searching for brand spanking new sprint wiring to your A-physique as that's 40 years previous if it hasn't been replaced in some unspecified time interior the destiny.

those old crusters usually rusted out the high beam switch on the floor due to gunk from your boots and carpets being wet......check that switch first, you'll probably find it's rotted away.
