The above answer is pretty good. I would add making sure the oil gets changed regularly. Also change the fuel filter and air filter. Make sure tires are inflated to 30 psi. Drive the speed limit. Run the air conditioner as little as possible. I do all of that and I get 30 mpg with a '03 intrepid.

Use Cruise Control on the highway. The computer can better control your speed than you can.

Carry the minimum amount of stuff in your car. Is your trunk full of stuff you don't need to be pulling around all the time?

Check your alignment. If you have ever been skiing, you know what it is like when your skis are pointed towards each other. If your tires are out of alignment, you could be pushing more than you need to.

If it is a manual transmission, skip gears. Accellerate hard through first, second and third, skip fourth and go right to fifth when you hit the speed limit.

Try to predict what is coming ahead. If you know you will have to stop at a red light a block away, coast until you need to brake. By the time you get there, it might be green.

Take off any spoilers. All they do is create areodynamic drag. Exept for maybe an Evo, WRX STi or some exotics, no car comes from the factory with a functional spoiler. Most are pure looks, and aerodynamically stupid.

best thing is try a different air fliter like and k&n they'll let it breath a little better and it does improve fuel economy, but you're not going to get much more better than what you are currently getting right now, the 2.7 is a gas guzzling going to break down soon type of engine cause its the worst one dodge ever came out with, i'd be more worried about your timming belt or cams those are notorious for going out in that engine.
