I brought my 2004 Chevy Colorado to the shop because the brakes were squeaking excessively loud. I was told that GM has been putting ceramic brakes on all of their new model vehicles.
The reasons for the ceramic breaks is that they wear much slower (90K mile rotations) and work more effectively. However, the downfall is the squeaking noise associated with them.
How do I get these breaks to stop squeaking? I do not want to pay a fortune for this repair either. I just want to stop at a traffic light and not sound like an 18-wheeler.
