sorry for the lack of info. it is a 65 car with a I6 200. i have a 289 out of a 66. i have the motor mounts that match right up to my existing holes, the c4 auto trans from the V8, driveshaft that i had all rebuilt. i already replaced the rear diff w/ a V8 5 bolt and installed granada disk brakes to the front along w/ a p/b booster. i got some info off a website that had all of the parts that you need on it but if you know of any commonly forgotten parts or things to make sure that you have i would appretiate hat info too! besides the parts what i would really like is a pretty much summerised check list of the steps that should be done when swapping the engines. as i said i have never done a swap to a bigger engine. this is my first and i want it done right. this car is my baby and i dont want to mess it up. besides as an 18 year old kid i cant afford to have to do this a second time if somthing goes wrong. i had a hard enough time being able to afford this. thanks for your help!!!!

I have done this before, it's sounds like you got it covered in parts, and now for sone help, get a friend, and take your time. So long as you can get the electrical hooked up proper, then this is no big deal accept for a motor hoist, and a little greasy arms. Also try mustangcorral.com, they only do mustangs. This is a project they do in their sleep.

You are in for a bunch of work. The brackets to the motor mounts are different. The whole suspension is different. The brakes are different. Even the splindles are different. The transmission mounts are different. Depending on the engine, the exhaust manifolds could raise clearance problems. The rear-end originally for the 6 was a "Spicer". It has been called a "baby Dana", (it only looks like one) but it is not up to the task of handling much increase in torque.
I put a 427 into a 68 mustang that originally had a 289. I up-graded to disc brakes in the process. It was a major task that took forever. I hope your are working with a small block. Good luck.

This is an easy swap, the 6 cyl radiator won't cut it so use a larger one.If you have a helper, you should be able to do this in a day as long as you have all the parts. The motor mounts are a direct bolt in so you will not need to modify anything.

well first what size is the i6 and the V8 certan ones you will have to do a lot of redoing stuff if it is like a 4.9l a big block like a 400 or a 427 or 460 will fit right in
