I have been looking around to figure out if i can play MP3's through the command system of this car. It can be done with a MP3 CD but i was hoping to be able to plug in an Ipod or some other hard drive solution which it allow for play lists and allowing the info to be populated on the command screen. I have seen a company called phatnoise (www.phatnoise.com) doing something like this but not for mercedes. Are there other similar solutions?

i am not sure if you can get an auxilary input on the sl yet. havnt seen one but you should ask the parts desk for an i-pod kit. i know i have seen them in newer models. dont know if the playlists come on the screen though. the 2007 s-class and 2007 cl-class have memory card slots now that get playlists but thats the only ones right now.

Recently I have run across this on New Nissan products too. You will need to go to the bright eyed mechanic with the Note book computer on his tool box and ask, "How do I use my Ipod with the Command system" You do not want FM modulation Digital signal is what you want directly to the display. You will have to have the newest down load on the I-pod or MP-3 player to show song artist and county jazz and classical. But I know It can be done!
