You shouldn't. The only thing that could get you stuck in an Audi is if you are in snow that is too deep for your car. If you are in a situation like that then chains will not help. I have an Audi TT quattro and it does better than the Ford Explorer in the snow.

Audi A4s have Front Wheel Drive, or All Wheel Drive... depending on the option. Quattro means its AWD. FWD models are cheaper to buy, perhaps a bit more fuel efficient, but beware if it's automatic regarding the Multitronic CVT Transmission.

You seem confused. Ask your question this way:

Does a Subaru Forester with all-wheel drive and all terrain tires need chains when the sign on the way to the pass says "Chains Required?" Answer: Of course!

If the highway Patrol says you have to have chains they mean everyone so get them. If it snows bad enough for them to put out the chain warning they set up road blocks and with out chains you can not go past them 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drives makes no difference.

no it would be a waiste of money. if an all wheel drive with decent all terrains gets stuck, chains wouldnt make a differance.

i would reccommend to get some just in case you never know and getting stuck is no fun...if you get stuck you can throw some sand around the wheel on the road or you can use cat litter as well
