I wondered if someone knows whether or not in the event of a power steering pump leaking on a Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec E (petrol), would it be possible that power steering fluid could find its way near the timing belt and tensioner etc? Has anyone ever had any experience of this?

I travel quite a bit to many different cities. I have noticed that every major city is ALWAYS conjested in creeping traffic for at least 2 hours in the morning and two hours in the evening.

The amount of wasted fuel and global warming must be stupendous. We are humans that have sent men to the moon, cured diseases, built enormous skyscrapers, etc.
Why can we not figure out how to diffuse traffic conjestion better, i.e., force companies to stagger work times other than 9 to 5? Or create forced carpooling for certain times? Is it our freedom that makes us slaves to traffic conjestion?
This just seems to be such a huge problem that should not be. Does anybody have any good ideas?

I have a 5th gen Prelude that is running very, very rich. I'm getting terrible gas milage fouling spark plugs on startup and dumping black smoke out the tailpipe...I replaced the O2 sensors about 10k miles ago and they are very expesive so i'm hoping that isn't the problem. Could a faulty fuel pressure regular be at blame, injectors....Honda told me something about a Cam Position Sensor...I didnt want to just start throwing parts at it, anyone got ideas? Thanks

2000 Oldsmobile Alero. I have a lot of friends with the same car who have the same problem. ALL of my windows have had problems. My rear passenger window keeps sliding down, i have to put it up every single day by hand. To get it to work the proper way it costs me $260. To get somebody to just come & put it up permanently it costs $80. I am planning on getting rid of the car completely so i dont want to invest any more money into it. Is there something i can buy to make my window stay up & up for good? That's cheaper than $80?? I know it won't be functional anymore but i dont care. Thanks!!
