The engine was originally made for leaded. Most owners have converted them to unleaded. It's fairly easy on that model. The head is simple to remove and you pretty much just get a valve job with new valves and seats.

Well if your car has NOT got hardened valve-seats, it will burn the valves.

I had a Morris 1,000 for YEARS and I ran a Petrol additive since the lead was removed and towed a trailer 400 miles and 400 miles back,
every year and did countless thousands of miles yearly, with no problems at all.

NOW USE "THIS" ADDITIVE. It is without doubt the best, and is even better than the leaded petrol.

It is called REDLINE LEAD SUBSTITUTE
It is made by Delta oil Ltd........
Tel. no. 01476,861,195

If you type into google,"redline lead substitute"
(It is Sodium based)

I gave all the information to the new owner when I sold my Morris 1,000, which by then had
been round the clock at least 3 times.

If I can help further, oxfordmo@bushinternet.com James

No it doesn't. Use an additive to save the valves.
Also get a lowering kit and retro fit chrome bumpers.Doing this will make it go much better.
It'll love you for it!

Does it have hardened steel exhaust valves? Probably not, a car of that age. Run it on super plus.

I seriously doubt that it will,
you are best using an additive when you fill up.
