i was wondering, do dark colors like dark blue or black actually make a car look smaller compared to brighter ones?

i dont think so. I have a 2002 grand prix and its black and it looks like the same size as the lightly colored grand prix's

The color theory is that darker or gray colors do make objects smaller in the eyes of the beholder. Witness the elephant and whale, although the biggest sized animals their color disguises them. Camouflage comes in many shades so a car will LOOK smaller to the viewer.

I do not think so about the size, but dark colors show the dirt and rain much more and therefore you would need to keep washed more frequently than say a lighter color.

I always heard that black clothes make people look thinner, so maybe the same theory would apply to cars.
