I'm about to buy a Trans Am from a guy, and he sais it has stock exhaust with something called a "Cutoff" or something like that. What exactly IS it, and is it good or bad? Also, will it affect my gas milage?

this is going to sound soo stupid but my husband bought a new car today and its a 1999 explorer sport. We cant getr the headlights to go off..i know theres a knob on it and we put it on off but they wont go off and the car didnt come with an owners manual??!?! please anyone know how to turn the lights off??!?!?!

I will be driving my van and it will suddenly downshift but not die. But sometimes it will just die and I have to pull over and put in park and it starts right up again. ANy ideas on what is wrong with it.

I drive a bobtail grocery delivery truck,it does not require a commercial license to operate.I always fill out a daily inspection report,some other of our drivers never bother.I tell them it's required and they just laugh it off.My supervisor never checks on that or hours worked.Is this a violation of federal law?

I have changed the silinoid the roter button the batterie the coil the fuel filter if I buy a tfi module would it help. I'm running out of options the fuel pump os still good we checked. I am running out of options and Money will the tfi module help and does anyone know where the button in the back of the trunk for the shut off saftey feature is cause that was suggested to me but I don't know where it is.

Lately my car has been making a "squishing" noise in the front end, especially when i enter/leave parking lots (the bigger the dip the louder the noise). I don't know if it's my shocks/suspension or maybe something else. How do i know what it is? I am going to be taking it to the automotive repair shop but i want to have some general information before i go there. Is it an expensive repair? Any info would be nice. Thanks

latley after driving the truck we get out and the engine compartment smells to me like kettle corn. It gives off a very sweet smell. I know it is not antifreze. It smells nothing like it. I would like to know what it is. We are using the A/C because it has been hot but we have used if for the last month or so with no smell. Any help would be great.

Ok guys im just wondering here, i was thinking that installing an amp and sub woofer would be kinda tricky or too time consuming with all the wires and stuff going to the battery and everywhere. The case is about a car accident and the other person was at fault, but turns out the other person's insurance company is Allstate.
Now, I got checked up by my doctors and everything and they all stated that the accident was the cause, but they don't know ht reason.
Because of that my lawyer claimed 100,000 dollars, for job opportunity loss, future job problems, and some other well within reasons.
So Allstate discussed about it and proposed to pay me 3000 dollars instead. Adding all of the medical bills and etc. the amount Allstate told me that they're paying barely comes down to 10% of the medical bills the accident caused.
So my lawyer told me that I might have to sue them, but the problem is that I read that Allstate is known for delaying the case and cheating everything to the extent that even winning the case isn't worth it.
So I've decided to come here and ask the question.
What are my chances of winning against Allstate?
Is it even worth it?

For those in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay specifically), which location would be the easiest (and least busy) to take the driving test: Oakland Coliseum location or Hayward location? I've already had one test a year or so back at the Oakland Clairmont location. That area was really busy, and I was nervous so I didn't pass. Also, is morning the best time to take the test?
