we have a 1995 golf...we were driving the other day in fifth gear and next thing the car started reving like mad... when we looked at the gear stick it was in fourth, I put it back into fifth and this time saw it slip into fourth..... we pulled in and turned the car off for a few minutes and then went back on our way... as we moved up through the gears absolutly no problem but when we hit fifth gear again it slipped back into fourth... We continued the rest of our journey going no higher than fourth and there was no problem.... but we cant use fifth gear... because of the hours i work i wont be able to bring the car to a garage until saturday so i just wanted to get some feedback before we go to the garage

About two weeks ago during a.m. commute, the "puddle" I ran my car into turned out to be about 2 ft. of water in a dip in the rd. My car stalled out, and was later checked out at dealership, in which they said they found nothing wrong. I opened air filter compartment and found lots of water. It runs- but starting it sounds awful, and it sputtered today after cranking it over. Is the water that was taken in going to ruin this car? Someone told me the sellenoid or starter should be replaced, but I can't tell the dealership about the water or my warranty is VOID! Please help.

Wondering how many other places in the States do people warn each other about speed traps by flashing thier headlights at oncoming traffic. I cant even count the times that it has saved me from getting a ticket ; ) I try to return the favor as much as possible.

I want to get a 2" suspension lift on my 04' jeep wrangler X. I currently have 31x10.50 MT tires . Will the suspension lift affect my transmission (auto), ride, or mpg? Also, I will need to add into the equation that I may get 15x8 rims vs. 15x7.

Can pilots adjust the tilt angle of their WXR antenna while it’s (in operation) sweeping from side to side, in an effort to find the “core” of a storm? I have the impression that this is possible because of a seemingly great importance for awareness on the vertical profile the storm, since the weather radar beam naturally gives a horizontal (“slice”) profile. In an interesting way, this reminds me of a doctor using a CAT scanner...steering its beam, to draw a three-dimensional model of a patient’s affected body section. If the WXR’s beam is steerable, vertically by the pilot (while the radar set steers the beam horizontally), I’d like to know where the control for this (capability) is in the cockpit.

this car has been sitting in my yard for 10-15 years anyway it was supposedly parked because my dad wanted to put an alternator into it and convert it to a 12v system. i want to fix it and i want to know possible reasons he would have wanted to change it and what i need to do before i start it.
P.S. cant ask my dad he passed away (long time ago) most of the reason it sat there

91 Geo Prism LSI, started making funny noises as I pushed on the gas, then it started feeling way wrong, so I pulled over, then it died on me. I then tried to restart it, It sounded like it was turning over, but wouldn't start, so I then stepped on the gas, when I did, It made a loud noise, like the engine blew up and a bunch of smoke came out of the engine. Later I saw a large puddle of oil on the ground and a few metal pieces.

i need help here.
ok so i bought this car about 3 months ago with loan. and now i realize i can't afford it anymore, -i'm in college- ( i pay about $500/mo including the insurance). i've asked here and there and they said that i had to continue my payments if i didn't want to get bad credit. or if i wanted to return the car i still had to pay the reminding balance and i lost the car. how do i get out from this? i don't wanna be in this debt anymore and if i can sell this car i want to buy a new cheap car cash not with loan anymore. help please. thank you
