About two weeks ago during a.m. commute, the "puddle" I ran my car into turned out to be about 2 ft. of water in a dip in the rd. My car stalled out, and was later checked out at dealership, in which they said they found nothing wrong. I opened air filter compartment and found lots of water. It runs- but starting it sounds awful, and it sputtered today after cranking it over. Is the water that was taken in going to ruin this car? Someone told me the sellenoid or starter should be replaced, but I can't tell the dealership about the water or my warranty is VOID! Please help.

If the car is starting then it isn't the starter or anything involving it. Sounds like you could have water in the fuel. Get some Fuel Treatment and add to the gas tank when you fill it up, it'll help dry the water in the fuel. Most parts stores and quickie marts with gas stations carry it, it's quite common in most places like the Marts, too.

sounds like your maf may have some water in it also, along with the air filter. a starter should not be bothered by water at all, i have driven through several puddles over the years and NEVER had a problem.

I don't think the water hurt anything, you would have some serious engine damage soon after it got wet.Clean up the water pocket in the air box and keep driving it.Motors get wet every day in rain, power washing, etc.
