I have an automatic 94' Nissan Maxima that will not shift into park because I can't push in the button used when shifting between park, drive, reverse, etc. What can I do?

David what this sounds like to me the park lock the button inside the shifter is sticky and did not pop back up after being depressed. Dried coke-cola coffee can do this. Lift the plastic surounding the shifter indicator. get a working flashlight and watch what the shifter does when shifted foward and the release button on the knob is pushed. (release is only used to get the gear box out of park) Other that that you can e-mail me about how the shifter lines up drive neutral and reverse. There might be a cable issue..

i think my friend had the same problem with a maxima? he had to stick like a pen or something that would fit in like this little key hole thing next to the shifter and then take it out of park
