Slow down and watch for emergency vehicles, police cars, and other officials who may be on the scene. If the accident has just occurred and there are no emergency vehicles on the scene, stop and try to help (the Good Samaritan Law in most States require that in the event of an emergency situation, you must stop to offer assistance). Other than that, there's nothing to do; don't slow down to "rubber-neck" as that will only delay emergency vehicles and cause further traffic tie-ups. Just watch for police directing traffic and comply with their directions. You could also pray for the poor souls who have lost their lives (saying a Rosary will always help; but don't get distracted from driving your own car!).

If no emergency services were available I would try to make sure they had been called and would render whatever aid I could.

There might be injured people requiring rescue or assistance, and it would certainly be a good thing to make sure police and EMS were coming. I would call 9-11 and make sure the accident had been reported.

Passersby can also help with other tasks such as diverting traffic until police arrive. (I did that at a non-fatal injury accident where a victim could not be moved out of a traffic lane several years ago--a State Trooper thanked me for helping.)

If help and emergency services are already on hand there would be no purpose to my getting out of my car and I would just try to get through it as best I could.

Call 911, pull your car off the road safely out of the way of traffic, check to see if you can administer any CPR or any other assistance like helping free victims that might be trapped in their vehicles, if all else fails and if as you stated in your question, there are no survivors and no other aid can be given in any way, take preventative measures against possible fires by removing all flammable cash from the victims wallets, purses, etc.

Call the cops, and try and see if anyone needs assistance. Will not move any of the victims until the paramedics get there.

If there is already a large number of people gathered/assisting, will continue on my way as too many helpers can confuse the situation.

You can't really help a dead person and since I'm stuck in traffic somewhere away from the wreck, I would simply sit and wait. Is there an exit nearby? I might try to go around. Now if there are survivors, I would attempt to help.

Help if I can, leave the emergency services to the professionals, get my vehicle out of the way, and never, ever begin a question with, "OK"
