Check where your thermostat housing bolts to the intake manifold (engine end of the upper radiator hose). I have seen many seeping coolant from there. It is hard to see as it is buried below and behind the alternator and the AC Compressor.
If there is a build up of corrossion, the thermostat gasket is leaking.
Also, check down the sides of your timing chain cover. I have had quite a few leaking coolant towards the top as well.
Look through the wheel wells on both sides and ensure your casting plugs haven't started leaking a bit. You can see all but the ones under the motor mounts.
Your smell sounds like a coolant leak.
Good luck.

Well I took it into the Mechanic today to have them smell it and setup an appointment. Well they ruled out antifreeze. That is what they thought of first but after smelling it, by 4 different mechanics, none of them had smelt anything like it before from an engine. So it goes in on the 31st to be checked out.

Sound like your a/c heater box is getting anti/freeze in it condenser might have a tiny leak. check the drain in the box an see if it has a slippery feel to it .That's quite common as it is a 98??It only takes 1 drop an the tr will have a sweet smell,& you can taste it in the air.It poision so get it fixed.China is using it in tooth paste an cough syrup as a sweetner.
