I drive a 90 Ford Tempo that had a history of vapor lock when it gets really hot, like it did today (almost 40 degrees celsius.) The car died while i was driving it, but I was able to start it after a few minutes, and drive a few feet before it died again. It sort of sputtered before it died.

Does that sound like a fuel pump of just vapor lock? Like I said, this vehicle has a history of vapor lock in hot weather.

I have a 1992 toyota corolla that I bought in december. The a/c blows hot air as soon as the engine gets up to normal temperature. Can i buy the charge kit at walmart to make my air cold again? And which one do I buy? As a single mom, I really cannot afford taking my car to a mechanic. Please, any info is appreciated.

I drive a 1998 Ford Eplorex Lt. Edt. with 210.000 miles on it.
Today, as I was driving on a full tank the car stopped at a light. The engine completely shut itself off, and I wasn't able to start it up.

The car is in good shape, but I haven't had an oil change in 10.000 miles.

I was able to get it to start up by using jumper cables, but as I pressed on the gas the engine started trembling violently and short after the car would just die. We had the hood open and you could see the whole engine shaking.

Any idea what's wrong with it? Coolant and oil levels were good, and the car was not over heating at all. Also, I was good on gas.

Could this be a result of not having an oil change, and if so, what would be the direct consequence? Ideas?

I was told to get on a jumbo jet because I would not be able to feel the plane moving. What is your opinion. I am thinking about flying to Washington state and then to Alaska for a cruise.

I was involved in an accident that was an off center rear impact. The other person who hit must have been traveling 35 - 40 mph as I was stopped at a light. The impact felt hard! I just bought this car new and it now has 2000 miles on it. The trunk is mangled and both sides of the rear quarter panels are buckled. No buckle on the roof is apparent. From the back doors forward the car still looks new. My concerns are, will this car withstand any future accidents if repaired now that the crumple zones have been damaged? The resale value now that it has a history (Carfax), I would rather have the insurance adjuster total the car, pay off its balance and I can move on and buy another NEW car. I certainly didn't buy a new car, with repaired major damage. I don't want this car for safety reasons. What kind of battle can I expect from my insurance company? Will they total it, or make me keep a car I no longer want? I have Nationwide, I'm not sure if the other person has ins.
Thanks

I've a '02 Ford Focus for 4 years now and it's the worst car I've ever had. Almost 10 warrenty services and about 3 - 4 recall services. Next year, I'm looking at getting an '04 Jaguar X-Type (Low mileage of course), but I have serious concerns about the quality of Jaguar now that Ford owns them. On Jaguar's site, they claim; "Although Jaguar Cars is owned by Ford Motor Company, the two operate independently from each other." However, I've heard from other research Jaguars use all Ford parts now and the same manufacturing processes. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks.

I have a 2000 Mazda 626 V6 2.5 Liter... I was driving home yesterday and I noticed that my car was overheating... and as soon as I took my exit my car died... I noticed there was smoke coming from under the hood... the coolant reservoir had a crack in it... and there was a pretty heavy leak... obviously that's what caused the car to overheat... but what made it die? also, i replaced the coolant reservoir today, refilled it with water, don't have any coolant... the engine turns but won't start... i just got the oil changed a little over a week ago, so that's not the problem... I can't think of what it could be... what's the problem?

I'm having it towed to the dealership tomorrow, just wondering if anybody might know what the problem is...

it will cause dirt to get into your engine.. I don't agree. Who is right? You won't be penalized if you side with her. But, whatever you answer, please explaiin why.

(I think the only reason to fill your car often would be if you let it get close to empty, you could have a panic attack when you get the bill.)

The lock on my drivers side car door is broken (I bought the car used and the lock was badly damaged). The door locks, but it can't be unlocked from the outside. On the passenger side, the lock is a bit rusty (but it locks/unlocks from the outside). I tried to call a locksmith, but they said that they don't deal with car locks and couldn't give me an estimate. Does anyone know who fixes these kinds of things (and perhaps an estimate)?

My 90 Silverado 5.7L 350 runs rough at idle and under light acceleration. I did a basic tune-up including plugs, wires, cap & rotor, and throttle body cleaning. The coil is fine. Check engine light comes on intermittently. Does anyone know of any common problems with this vehicle that causes this condition? Thanks.
