I was told to get on a jumbo jet because I would not be able to feel the plane moving. What is your opinion. I am thinking about flying to Washington state and then to Alaska for a cruise.

Any commercial aircraft will be fine. Try to fly on the newer ones such as the Airbus A330, Boeing 767,777, or even the 747. Good Luck. Nothing will happen all airline pilots are trained for every situation.

Working with the airlines, I must say the bigger the better. Small planes take turbulance a bit more rough and people are often fearful of small confined spaces. Also, if you are not flying first class, try near the wings in the emergency exit aisles. It gives you more foot room and during landing the rear wheels make contact a bit harsher than the front. Being in the middle gives you a buffer for both and the body of the plane has a little more stability near the wings.

Most wide body twin isle airliners will make you feel like you are less on an airplane as compared to the smaller craft, especially if you seat in the middle. Flying today is very safe and comfortable. Your biggest problem will be getting to the airport and onto the plane

Not as pilot I guess? Any commercial aircraft will do. Aircraft have come a long way since 1972. Even foreign built air planes. Canada, France, British, and South American airplanes fly all around.

the larger jets are going to be the most comfortable, but the flight from washington state to alaska is likely going to be on what they call a puddle jumper. they can be a bit cramped for some people. still a safe way to go.

Well, the jumbo jets are good as far as not feeling too much turbulence, but they shove you in there like packed sardines-so many people, so small of seats....smaller planes are definitely more comfy, but you DO tend to feel more movement in them. I guess you just need to decide what's more important to you. I hope I helped...good luck!

go with the bigger plane, it will seem less crowded and yes, you won't feel the plane moving. Also your ears will be more comfortable because bigger planes have better pressure control(but the really small planes are good for ears too because they don't go as high)

Ofcourse it concerns what airline!! Different airways use one of a kind forms of plane. If you dont desire to let us know what airline you're flying with (that is unusual...) then no person goes to be competent to reply your query.
