turn key to on (not to crank) depress the accelerator to the floor and fully release three times in 10 seconds oil light will flash and go out...

not sure on the impala but I know the on the cobalt if you turn the ignition to Accesories and hold both of the computer nav keys it will take you to an alternate menu. scroll through that menu until you see oil life reset. press and hold the enter button for 3 seconds and it will reset

push radio power button till it clicks -- setup will showup - turn button till oil change -reset push in buton again at least that is how my 2005 works
