When a big plane (like a 747) lands, does it bounce on the runway ?

Does it actually touches the ground, get back in the air and touches the ground again for good ?
Or is there only one contact with the ground with a bounce feeling due to the suspension ?

I'm trying to get a cable through the bulkhead of a peugeot 406 estate:- i can't seem to find a grommet to use. Can someone tell me specifically, where there is a grommet/hole to get through the bulkhead.

it was my dad's car and he has just passed away - i need to treat this car with the ultimate respect and care - there is no way i can risk damaging it in any way by drilling a hole "blind" in case i hit something the other side or add an "open wound" for rust to get in

As a compromise, is there anywhere i can "tap" a 35/40amp supply inside the car -I'm not usually a person to compromise but in this case [see last paragraph] I would rather bin the caravan than mark the car in any way.

Has anyone tried running a cable UNDER this type of vehicle, are there enough attachment points - i can protect the cable from damage by running it inside an old hosepipe

come on guys , holidays are looming!

I drove home last night behind a Ford Focus who was then behind a Renault van who was behind an Astra. Of the three - all diesels - the Ford pumped out black smoke every time it accelerated whilst the other two didnt. Being on a motorbike at the time, the stench was quite overpowering and as there were no overtaking opportunities I tried to stay well out his smoke and it was so good to have him turn off in the village. I know they do tests for diesel smoke but I have the impression that Fords are particularly bad in this respect.

I need to get 4 new tyres for my car here in Ireland. Given that we don't have to deal with much snow at all, are summer tyres the best bet for all year round or perhaps winter tyres?
Thanks

An ad in autotrader for an extremely good buy, from a private seller abroad, in a merc but they expect you to send the money to this shipping company to hold till you get the car. Sounds fishy to me. Any comments

I listen to English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese mp3/wma songs. But I'm frustrated that my $50 Sandisk Sansa player can display all my song info, and yet nothing in the car (that I know of) will do it. Besides having to fly to Hong Kong or trying to get someone to send me one from there, where can I buy a car stereo that is able to do this in the US?

What is the best way to brake in car, with or without the engine assistance? Is it true, that engine braking consumes additional fuel comparing to cluthcing and braking from certain speed to 0mp/h with foot brakes only? I heard engine braking provides you additional oil distribution around the whole engine. Is that all true? How to brake most efficient with fuel saving and not tearing pads+discs too much?

PS-does too much engine braking influence stressing the timing belt?

Research published today in the UK has suggested that white car drivers are less likely to have an accident, and are the safest to drive.

But does that mean that "white van man" is a myth ? (White van man is rupetedly a dangerous driver!)

Statistics can be used to say anything. Interested in your thoughts.

If so, how do you like it? Would you say it is a significant improvement over its predecessor (a great car)? How would you compare it to the other convertibles in the segment: A4, C70, Saab? I LOVE BMWs!!!!!

If AutoCheck or a similar vehicle history reporting company finds this message, does this mean I shouldn't buy this car? What does this mean...and could it just be the loan where the previous owner bought it?
