An ad in autotrader for an extremely good buy, from a private seller abroad, in a merc but they expect you to send the money to this shipping company to hold till you get the car. Sounds fishy to me. Any comments

run away!
almost all of those forgien deals through the internet are a hoax. There are probably many legit dealers out there, but so many fakes that it would be hard to trust someone like that.

Your info about sending money to the shipping company sounds like part of a couple of the standard scams.

Very common well known scam, I'm afraid. It works like this:

You send the money.
You never get the car (because the advert is fake...).
You've lost your money.

You'd be surprised at how many people get suckered into this, simply because they think they are getting a bargain.

Mmmmmmmmmmm, let me think.......Ill sell you my very desirable car - well under market rate, but only if you send large amounts of money to a "company" youve never heard of, no idea where they are , BEFORE I send you my car .........really!!!!!, it coudlnt get any fishier !!!!!
