I rent an apartment that has no smoke alarms, and no fire extinguishers. If a fire starts, I will burn. I know the law says these things are supposed to be here, should I report the violation, or just let the place burn my stuff, then call my lawyer ?

Me and my sister are soon graduating High School, she wants to live with me and I was thinking of living in the city (NYC), so how much does it cost for an apartment there that is not in bad conditions. Thanks in advance.

Due to the neigboring unit's overflooding, my unit flooded causing major mildew damage. The property is inhabitable and the area has rundown. I do not want to pay mortgage every month for a property I can not sell and can not rent.
I need to find the best option to cut this problem without losing anymore money or taking a big credit hit. I don't know whether to let it foreclose or pursue a deed in lieu of foreclosure because I can't keep paying for a dead investment.

I'm about to start practising in the real estate industry. I know I'll need a good smartphone, but I have no clue which will work best with real estate software.

I've looked at the blackjack, the blackberry pearl, nokia E62 & the blackberry 7130. Each one has some option that the other doesn't and I think I might need (eg. camera but no wi-fi, no camera but w/ editing capacity, etc.).

Is there anyone working in the field that could share some knowledge?
