My partner, myself, our 7 year old daughter (and baby on the way!) are hoping to leave London, so we can buy a house - only we don't know where to move to!

We're lucky in that we can both work from home, but my daughter does need to get to London to visit her Dad at weekends, so can't be much more than a 90 minute train ride from London.

I don't drive, so moving to the remote countryside is not an option. We'd really like to live in a family area, but a house that's within walking distance of good cinemas/shops/restaurants/pubs... We both like towns with a bit of history, not too tiny (we're used to London!) ideally there'll also be some countryside/coast nearby to visit on days out.

We have a budget of £250k and do need a 3 bed house (at least) so the 'best' bits of the commuter belt will probably be above of our budget. Any ideas for nice places to live?

Just trying to find out more info on St. George. I know it's a growing place and I may consider a job opportunity there in the future. I was shocked when I tried to do a search on apartments that hardly any listings came up at all. And the few listings that came up were really expensive. Also, is there anything to do in that town? Or do most people end up going to Vegas every weekend for entertainment.

We found a house that is right for us & applied to rent it.All this time, they have been working on the application & we have been running ragged to get references. Now that we have been approved, they tell us we have to get the deposit to them before anyone else, because there are "several" ppl looking at this particular house!
They knew from the start we only get paid once a month!

We have been through the wringer with a contractor who has done substandard work and wandered away with projects half done. Now we just want out. How do we get a quick sale on a modular on a permanent foundation on it's own lot? Are any of those "We pay cash for homes" websites legit? We have some plusses, such as a great location and big decks, but the the carpets are the pits and the back deck is dryrotted, among other problems. Total repairs to get the place into top-notch condition would be 15-18k. Any ideas? How low is too low? A very similar home, except in good-not great-condition went for $345k last week. How badly will we need to discount this place to attract a buyer? Any insight is appreciated.

My friend and i and her daughter, moved into a place together last year and i moved out recently due to (to much drama and just not getting along with the daughter and roomate) I paid half the damage deposit and 400$ of the rent each month. My roomate was always late with her rent, i was on time! i moved out and now i was wondering if im eligible for my damage deposit back. I called to talk to the landlord and she says that i should talk to my roomate which we arent talkin anymore(how it always ends)
the landlord says that she rented it to my roomate and i was just a subtenant so she will be giving the whole damage depost to my roomate. So i dont agree but then they say i signed something saying i wouldnt move out before a year.. but if i wasnt the 1st tenant doesnt that now apply my roomate still lives there. and she doesnt think i get my DD back either. ??? do i or dont i ?

I was looking 4 a house to rent, lease, buy, etc. and this fraud / fradulent company - approvalagency.com / homebuyer assistance / bankon.us - offers a service which allows you to take over mortgage on a home & then you own it. It's not true, they trick you into their website & get you to pay the $198. Then turns out its some scam business opportunity & that they expect you to do the work. They give you a list of addresses, (via priority mail which you sign for) & they would have you confront people close to at default on their mortgage & convince them to give up their house - which is stupid and no one is interested. When you ask for a refund becuase this is not what you expected at all, they give you the runaround for a few days, and in the end tell you that they only have a 1 yr $ back guarantee so you won't get your $ back for another year (if then), & that when you logged into their site it required you agreed to all this (and you signed for the mail package too) so ur just SOL.

I am 19 yrs old with a great amount of income and would like to move out on my own. I hate the idea of throwing money away on rent when I could use it to invest in a condo/house. I have good credit however I have only had credit for only a year and a half. I cannot turn to anyone in my family to help me with this. Where do I start? Would I qualify for a loan?

I"m interested in the possibility of purchasing my first property in the next year, probably a condo or townhouse. Also, I'm a single woman, and I make less than 50K. My credit is not perfect and I'm worried about being financed. I don't have a lot of debt, but I have some bad marks on my statement from some past mistakes (late bills) made a few years ago. In my favor, I live in an area of the US where housing is affordable.

I guess I'm wondering what kind of financing options are out there for somebody like me. And...is this a smart move or should I be waiting until I have a higher income.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a borrower with decent credit score and is trying to purchase a house in NY for around 410k with no money to put down except to show the bank the PITI reserves that he has in the bank.... Is there a bank that can do this loan at a 100% including seller's concession and a 650 mid fico?? stated income verified assetts...think about though..I read that most banks now are changing their guidelines and are not accepting loans with 6% seller's and most of the banks that I dealt with nowadays are not taking 6 they are only giving us 3%
