My wife and I found a house for $185,000.. We offered them $180,000 and also that they pay our closing costs.

They counter offered $186,000 and they would give us 3% back, that's about $5580

what would you offer them at this point?

Should I serve tea and crumpets or something? If so, what's a crumpet and where do I get them? What other snacks would be considered victorian-ish?

I just got a landlord's notice of entry. They claim that it is "URGENT" and "requirement" that I test my smoke alarm and stove and call them before the inspection if either is not working, that I remove any cords going from one wall to another (don't have any - no problem), and that I remove all boxes, furniture, or other materials that may be blocking windows, doors, and electrical panels before the inspection. They say if these things are not done, it is a lease violation and consequences will be applied. First, I don't recall any lease stipulation that requires I do any work to prepare for any unwanted entry. Second, can they legally require me to do all of these things to prepare for an inspection? The inspection is scheduled to occur on one of three days and there's no way I can move all furniture away from all electrical outlets and live like that for three days. And why should I inspect my stove and smoke alarm myself - that's their job! This will be the 2nd inspection in 1 mo!

After the price of an apartment k.k. is written what does this mean? For example 175000 k.k is written for a 2 room apartment. I hope this is not the base cost per kamer/room.Thanks

I just got a job in Las Vegas and am in the process of looking for a place to live out there. I'm looking for a relatively decent price (500-800) per month somewhere in the southeast Las Vegas Or Henderson area. Does anybody know of any good deals. Thanks.

Can anyone give me a link to a website that shows apartments for rent, their locations, and how much they cost monthly? Also, what is the difference between studios and efficiencies and which is cheaper?

We are moving our business to an outdoor mall type setting... A strip mall.

What are some good questions I should ask a potential landlord?

Also, what are some ways I can get more bang for my buck and or get them to offer better incentives for us to move our business there?

Before I visit a location I get the size, price per sq. ft. NNN cost (roughly at least), their preferred lease terms, basic amenities, if they have anything in their lease about signs (in addition to the city ordinances).

Not sure what else to ask.

Any help is appreciated

I am 32 and just got out of the Navy after 12.5 yrs. My credit score is 573. My wife is 26 with a score of 720. We are trying to buy a house for 169,990. I make 28K post tax at Comcast (where I work now) and me and the wife receive 1200 a month in Disability pay which is non taxable. We have our phone interview with Pulte Mortgage tomorrow morning. I'm just wondering if this is a pipe dream and if not, what kind of rate can we expect? We also have the option of using a VA loan since both of us are prior military. Oh and we just paid off my wifes car 2 years early to free up 453.00 extra a month. Any help is appreciated.

My Roomate and I put in our 30 days notice yesterday, he moved out today. I am going to stay the full 30 days. He paid for his half of the rent, but expects me to pay for the full amount of utilities since he isn't staying in the apartment. To me this doesn't sound legit. I shouldn't have to pay for the fact that he left early. He should be responsible for his half regardless. Tell me what you think.

I need a 2 bedroom apartment/condo/townhome or house rental in orange county that would allow a 60lb. dog (lab/spitz mix). Under $1550 is ideal.

In cities of Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, Irvine, Orange, Fountain Valley, Garden Grive, Tustin, Stanton or Anaheim.

let me know if you know of any places!

We are thinking of moving to Saskatchewan. I only know that the housing, car insurance, health care are cheaper. We are from Alberta and it is just crazy with the house prices and the amount of people coming here.

My grandmother bought our house with her name on the deed, and now there may be a problem with us having to move unless my sister's name can be put on the deed as well. The lawyer took my sister's social security number, so we're wondering if they have to do a credit history search to get her name on the deed or what, because my sister already told them she doesn't have good credit.

My landlord just handed up a bullitin that says we are no longer allowed to hang laundry to dry on our balconys because it doesn't look nice.

This is no where in the agreement I signed.

I just bought a drying rack for this very purpose as I love to have the sun dry my clothes instead of paying $2 for a dryer that doesn't work well.

Can she change the rules like that?

This is in BC Canada btw

My Boyfriend and I are planning on moving out within the next couple of months and I was trying to see how much we should try to atleast have saved up by the time we move. We want to rent an apartment that is $770 a month and already have $2000 saved up. Is that enough to start or should we wait longer to save more? I know there are is a certain amount you should save up to put down when you buy a house but what about when you rent?! We already have most of the small things needed for the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom; all we have to get are the big furnture parts. I just want to make sure I do this right the first time because I don't want there to be a second time. When I move out I want to be out I don't want to end up moving back in with my parents. Between my boyfriend and I we make $23 an hour, is that enough to rent an apartment with the monthly rent $770? Thanks for your time and help.

My sister and I are interested in purchasing a home together. We have seen the research that reports it is a buyers market. We however live in Metro Detroit and if you are not familiar our economy is one of the poorest in the states. Auto industry is hitting our economy and so many homes are for sale or being foreclosed. Is it a good time to purchase a home in this area? Also, we're both single under 30 not knowing how long we plan on living in the Detroit area for; maybe less than 2 years or longer - based on our jobs. With being in the home for less than 2 years or longer will we even make a profit. Rent vs. buy is a term I've been struggling with. Help!!!
