After the price of an apartment k.k. is written what does this mean? For example 175000 k.k is written for a 2 room apartment. I hope this is not the base cost per kamer/room.Thanks

k.k. means kosten koper. It means that 175000 is the price of the flat and you have to expect to pay an extra 10% on top of that for costs of signing the contract, notary fees, taxes etc. All these extra costs are by the way tax deductible.

Nearly all real estate is sold k.k. in the Netherlands. You just have to accept it. Besides, 175000 for a 2 room apartment is quite steep! Maybe you should look a little further at Funda? The majority of real estate for sale in the Netherlands can be found here.

K.k. is the standard abbreviation for "Kosten koper" (lit.: Costs buyer) which means that all administrative expenses concerning the transfer of real estate in addition to the property's price, such as real estate agent and notary fees, and transfer tax must be paid for by the buyer. This is a common practice in the Netherlands, and in some cases could amount to an additional few percent of the actual price of the property. My advice: instruct your real estate agent to give you a full insight into these costs.
