Is it okay for my landlord to increase my rent by 19% ($255) when renewing my 12 months contract? Isn't there a maximum percentage that they can increase? I have lived in several apartments in the past...they usually increase $50 or $100...but never $255. I'm in California if it matters. Please help me with any information. Thank you.

Hello, I want to buy a condo or a house with 2 bedrooms, but I don't have any credit at all. I pull around 4k a month and have about 15k saved up. I was wondering if there is any way I can buy a house or a condo without building credit first. Please help me and thank you very much for your help.

My boyfriend of 3 years and I are purchasing our first house together, but due to his bad credit, just my name is going to be on the mortgage to get a better interest rate. I was told that I can add him to the title at anytime. If I do this, and if we end up not staying together (not likely), am I able to remove him from the title without his persmission?

Hope someone can help,i bought my parents house in 1995 from the council right to buy scheme,we had a verbal agreement i would pay the mortgage,my parents would pay for any utility bills and improvements.I did not ask for any rent because this was an investment for myself,my father passed away a few years ago and my mother has carried on living there. The problem is that i am now financially strapped and need to sell the house quickly, consequently this decision has split the family its a case of me and them,my brothers and sisters have threatened me telling me i cannot go near the house,i have given them three options to resolve this, these are as follows 1>take over the mortgage and pay me a settlement,2>sell the house,3>i will have it repossessed, there answer is they will pay the mortgage off and i will walk away with nothing, this to me is not acceptable.Thank you in advance.

I am very interested in flipping houses but the only thing I know about it is what I see on TV. My husband and I have no money, he works full time and I am a full time student with a part time job. We own our home but we would really like to buy a house that needs some cosmetic repairs and flip it but we are clueless on how to get the money to achieve this goal. Do we just get a loan? If we get a mortgage on the house then we will have two house notes and still need money for the work on the house so I am confused. Can someone please explain how people go about doing this?

I am thinking about buying at least one piece of property this quarter and then maybe up to two next quarter. I am interested in learning about investment property. I don't mind sitting on them for a while until the market recovers, because I know what the return will be like.

I am not worried about financing. I have that in place. I just want to if anybody has some good advice for me.

I have found two pieces of property, and I need to decide which one would be better for my breaking my cherry.

Thank you all for your time!

Would you pay more for the apartment with a nice yard that you could enjoy or would you rather have no yard or one that was not maintained for a cheaper price?

Is there a site that will tell me the potential "gains" that I will get from doing home repairs?

I know they say if you remodel your kitchen you will get xx% back when you sell...etc etc.

I want to add a room to my house and a wrap around deck, but I don't know if the monies spent would come back to us if we sold.

Thanks.
Dee

I was wondering if there is a website that list the local houses that are being forclosed. I'm looking for a free website that you type in a zip code and it will give you list of local forclosed homes. A website that will tell me all of the grants and loan assistance that I can apply for with out charging me anything out right. Does anyone know of a website like this?

I am looking for something preferably in and/or around the areas of (preferably) Liberty and Monticello. I'm looking in the range of $200 - $550 / mo for a 1 bdrm with ALL utilities included OR a possible 2 bdrm apartment from anywhere $200 - $750 / mo (that's if we get a third party available to move in with my boyfriend and I)

I've been searching online and they're either Late posts or direct me with "None available in your area" crap.

Anyone seriously looking for a tenant? Any great websites that you know? Something? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I know a bankruptcy stays on for 10 years how long does a forclosure stay on? I do plan to buy another house soon,(downsizing as my income has changed) I do not have A bk or forclosure right now but may have soon if my house does not sell in the next 2 months. ANY advice would be very welcome.
The home I am trying to sell is in phoenix AZ and the market here is flooded with homes for sale right now, I cannot afford to wait for the market to turn around so I need to do something NOW, I would even sign the house over to someone-just take over payments! so I can save my good credit.

Can a landlord legally put a clause in a lease that says they will increase the rent 40% if another tenant moves into the apartment? I understand that a new tenant must be added to the lease, but I've never heard of the price of an apartment changing depending on how many people live there.

So if I get married, or if I have a child, the landlord has the right to increase my rent? That doesn't seem right....

Edited to add: Yes, I have a fixed-term lease: one year.
