I've lived both in a high rise in the city, and in more rural apartments, and it's very depressing to live in a place with no natural space. The extra money is very much worth it.
The first thing I look for now in a new home or apartment is trees. If there aren't any big trees and nice pieces of land, grass, flowerbeds, etc common areas or yards, I don't even bother going in to find out about the place.

Depends on my lifestyle. When I had time to maintain a small garden and hold BBQ's with friends, the yard was a bonus. However, when my job required me to travel a lot, and I rarely entertained at my place, I had no need for the yard and maintaining it was a bit of a pain.

I just moved from a house where I had to cut the yard to an apartment where I don't really have one. They both have their pros and cons but I think I miss the backyard more.

Depends on how much you would use the yard. Do you BBQ a lot?? Do you entertain outdoors a lot? Do you have a dog that would use it too?
I would probably pick the one with a backyard because it would feel more like home with your own space.

An apartment with a nice yard that you could enjoy
would be worth more if the apartment is equally as nice
as the one with no/marginal yard.

It would depend on my budget, if i could afford the yard then i would choose it, but i wouldn't go into debt or sacrifice other necessities just to have it

That depends on how much time you'd spend in the backyard if you had one.
