Hi, I am getting very worried, due to unfortunate circumstances our home is being repossessed, I was hoping to be able to rent but now find that you have to have a credit score - which i know we will fail - im so worried that we are going to end up homeless - does any one know what the process involves in terms of how bad your credit has to be before rental companies will refuse you - thank you

I am currently in escrow and just had the city inspector go by the home and make sure everything is legal and has permits. There is a wood patio in the back yard over a built in bb-q and a 10by8 shed on the side of the house. He said that those two structures need to be removed in order to get the ok from him.Can I get reemberesed or have the sellers pay for its replacement onced they pay to get it removed. Our purchase agreement says property sold at its present physical condition without any exclutions unless specified.Inspector said patio is a fire hazard and shed is too big and is touching the brick wall. What should I say or do?

Basically I put 10,000 down on a property on JANUARY 27 and just found out TODAY (2/27) that the seller has not signed the contract and basically NOTHING has occurred on my purchase. I have my loan locked until 3/22 so I am telling the seller to open escrow TODAY. At this point, I am demanding a 15 day escrow.

Ok, worst case scenario, what can happen?

My credit score is not so great , but I pay fairly high rent anyway, so I'd like to buy instead of renting. Does a house really stand good for itself?

I had posted similar question before too. But now the deadline for my payment is just 2 days from now. So, I would like your opinions.

Long story in short: I vacated my apartment in Dec 2005. Leasing office sent me a letter in Feb 2006 saying that I have to pay $600 for burned carpet. I called maintenance manager and he agreed that the burns were there before I moved in. Unfortunately, I did not have any written letter on this.

Now, after one year, I got a letter from a collection agency asking me to pay $600. I called up maintenance manager and he says he does not remember talking to me last year. I agree with him, he might not remember. Afterall he inspects hundreds of houses in a year.

Now my question to you is. I do not want to pay collection agency $600. But they are threatening me that if I do not pay atleast $500, they will take actions and then I will be responsible for this amount PLUS the attorney fees.

Please advice. Should I pay them $500? Or should I not? What

My home is worth $80k I owe $15k on it. Last year I have bought two other homes, paying $17k, and $27k. I'm in the process of rehabing the those two homes. I also have about $13K in 3.99% credite cards and $8k on my lowes card which I'll be paying 24% interest rate by May. I don't know what the value of the homes will be when completed I figure $50k each. But it will take a while to finish each. My daughter rents the larger home for $400.00 a month and the payment on that home is $350.00. I'm 43 and my wife is 48. For my age my health is in question, so I want to make a nice neat package for my wife should something happen to me. Should I refinance everything on my home? I really need to know what to do next.

I sent a 30 day notice by certified mail to my landlord telling him that I was moving out. He has been away and has not responded. I finished moving out yesterday. What do I do with the apartment keys? He did not show up for the walk thru appointment I suggested in the letter. He did not leave anyone in charge in the rental property which has 6 units.
If I keep the keys do I keep owing more rent?
Can I send them back to him via certified mail?
Do I just hang on to them until he contacts me? I did give him my new address.

Why does it seem like more people (in US at least) are renting apartments these days? The apartment buildings are getting fancier and higher priced to appeal to more people, but my hubby and I are still in our 30's, have only a couple years left on our mortgage and will then be only paying prop. tax and upkeep (less monthly cost than renting would be) and we can decorate our house as we want - have a pool, yard, pets, etc. And - if we sell, we get the profit! So - why all the renting?
