Just wondering, what should I wear to interviews, what sort of daily wear is required, and what does the daily work include? And which part of the job is best eg rentals, sales, secreterial etc

Wear dress suit or something smart, conservative not to flashy, as this will be the sort of daily wear. Rental is the faster side of the business with a high turn over of properties, sales is slightly slower but more rewarding (and on the whole better pay) Never done secreterial, but the good points of real estate is you get out and about seeing houses, meeting clients.... more fun than sitting at a desk. One word of warning.. the pay can be dire to start, but if your good can quickly build.

Good luck with your new path!

First and foremost - be professional. In an interview, it's always good to ask what the dress code is. Most likely it will be Business Casual or Professional.

For me the best part of the job is showings. I love to take a client to a house and see the look in their eyes when I find a close to perfect home for them.

If you are interested in becomming an agent, then i would go to your state's professional licensure department on the web. There they can tell you local accredited schools to get your license and different things you will need to know. I would also go to Realtor.com. They have so many articles and information for "Rookie Realtors", it's really awesome.

It depends on what you are looking for; there's so many areas in real estate, but right now the market is softening and sales are weak. I don't think there's a big employment demand but just look professional. The best part of the job depends if you like what you're doing. Most of the jobs include paperwork handling.

when I started in 1989..i wasn't sure..
just thought maybe something part time to supplement my income..

I wrote a resume......and made 1000 copies (cost ap $8 for bulk at Office Depot)..
took the resume out to each real estate office..and put a resume in each mail box.......

i got 5 replies in less than a week.....and combined the time into full time work........after 2 years working as an assistant I knew if i wanted to continue........

as far as clothes, the "realtor" will tell you...
good luck........
