We paid $100 non-refundable pet fee and $250.00 refundable pet deposit. Cat has never peed on carpet nor has he scratched doors, lintels or damaged anything in the apartment. We are having the carpet professionally shmpood. Cab the real estate management still deduct something from out pet deposit? If so, what? - so I can get it taken cared of right away. Thanks!

We're cleaning my apartment in prep to move out. We've cleaned all interiors and scheduled to get carpet shampood. But I noticed that window screens are a bit dusty and the exterior face of window glass needs wiping down. But how can we clean this as we are on the 2nd floor? Is the externals my responsibility or the landlord's? Oh - we stayed here only 3 months.

I feel like I am in a poor position to negotiate since I have no cash, plus, all of the homes I like are about 30k more than I have pre-qualified for on my mortgage loan -- Dave.

Our family is relocating from Kansas City to Chicago. We're looking to live in a fun, hip part of town...but it needs to be out of the city, since we have two young kids. We are searching for an upscale neighborhood, with diversity and good schools. We work out of our home, so proximity to work is not important. Any suggestions? And what's the difference between the northern and southern suburbs. Anything we should consider?

I'm thinking of moving to a new city in another state and I'm visiting there in a few weeks to look at homes. What are some other things I should do or look into to make sure this is a city I want to live in?

I heard real estate costs are quite high in this country with 4 million population. Is it because of the better weather or because of the migrants from Hongkong?

I had severe black mold in my condomium. According to the HomeOwner Association's contract, they are responsible for the copper pipe problems. Well, it has been about 3 months, since I lived there, and they are still fixing. Does the HomeOwner Association responsible for reimbursing me for not being able to live in my place, I still have to pay the monthly mortgage, homeowner's association fee, electric bill, telephone bill and so on. What are my rights?

My father and I are having a hard time with this issue, but he is charging me $150 rent and i think thats too much because i'm never there, i'm always hanging out with friends or at work, (more at work than anything) but anyway, he said that it pays for all the things that i use, i don't ever eat there and when i do i'm making history, i use the water every morning to shower, and electrical to do my hair. Most of the time when i am there i'm sleeping. I have never asked him for money since i've had a job and before that i didn't for awhile because i didn't really have anything to pay for. It would be one thing if i sat around and did nothing and didn't have a job at all but thats not the case! I'm not opposed to paying rent because i am 19 and it would be time to take on larger responsibilities but i don't think that i'm using $150 worth of things. Tell me what ya'll think.

And made it out? If so how? I have been tring, and offered to pay countrywide all the back payments, less the legal fees. Put the legal fees on the balance and they refused. Gave them $7500 now behind $5000. what should I do. Please don't judge me, as you do not know my situation.

I hate to admit this but I have fallen on hard times. I find myself one month behind in my rent and next month is right around the corner. Are there any options out there for "interest free" crisis loans? I live in Philadelphia, Pa.

Our landlord called and 35 min. later he was here while my husband was sleeping. When he entered the house, he found that we had pets that we were not suppose to have. As far as I know, it is against the law for him to do this. Can anyone help me out with this?
