I know that no one KNOWS how the real estate market will be in 6 months, but I was just wondering what you predict. I predict prices will drop in some areas and in 6 months, most areas will see a similar market to how it was about 3 years ago...on a steady rise, but nothing too drastic or even noticeable.

the residents of the apartment complex that my daughter lives in are subject to regular inspections by the management..

they say that they are coming in to check the sinks, a/c vents, and sundry other things.. her rental agreement clearly states that she is responsible for all of these items, and does not stipulate that they are allowed in for any other reason then repairs and emergencies..

is this legal?? what should she do?

My brother gave a landlord a $200. deposit to hold an apartment and 8 days later after the landlord dragged her feet doing a background check and credit check, I found another apt. She now says that she will not return the deposit. The decision to take another apartment did not cost her anything as she was in no hurry to rent the apt. even before I inquired about it (according to her next door neighbor and my friend)

Is it legal to give your 30 days notice by email? Does that count as written notification? I gave 40 days notice to allow a little extra time, and did this by email. It's been a couple of days, and I've received no reply. We're now approaching the 30 day limit, and I need to be sure that email notice is valid.

I cannot see him in person, he lives in a different state, has no property manager, and I can't seem to reach him by phone. Does it matter if he acknowledges it, as long as I sent it? Or should I get confirmation that he has also RECEIVED it?

I heard that the house prices in Maidstone, Kent are reasonably cheaper than in London. Is it feasible to live in Maidstone and commute to central London to work? Is it a good option?

I am looking to buy a house in Australia, Realestate.com.au is pretty good.

When searching for a house, some of the results say that the house is "under contract/ under offer" Does this mean that i shouldn't even bother thinking about them? ... ie what happens if you make an offer? do they only consider it if the contract falls through.

last month i gave my tennant 3 months notice as i intend to sell my house. her rent is paid by housing benefit and she tops it up by way of standing order because her benefit does not cover all the rent. I have now recieved a letter from the council saying the rent cheque now goes to the tennant and funny enough her standing order has been cancelled. I managed to talk to her about this only to be told that because im making her move out she intends to keep the benefit cheques to cover her removals and she will pay no rent to me because i have decided to sell MY house. Its driving me mad because I cant speak to the council until monday does anyone know what the outcome may be . oh and did i mention she has demanded her deposit back when she leaves.
