The market entered into a correction. It is pretty stagnant. There is many homes on the market and buyers are sitting on the fence because they feel homes are overpriced. I think we will give back a years worth of appreciation. Historically Nov, Dec, Jan tend to be the weaker months and this year it will be the same. By end of spring we will have had enough transaction take place to help everyone know where the market is going and historically that is...up.

Cycles in real estate last longer than stock markets. Given the downtrend has only been in place for about a year, I would say flat to lower in most areas.
I'm afraid those who are predicting a quick rebound, nationally, are overly optimistic. Of course, there are exceptions in local markets, particularly those which have not taken place in the boom over the previous five years.

That depends on where you live of course, but in the West it seems
to be dropping steadily. Maybe it will have balanced out by then, but the rampant artificial inflation for so long has left prices that no one can really afford, hence the drop.

in 6 months all hell is going to break loose, when people find out that energy is going to cost soon more than the average household can afford. Meaning just like in health, only the rich are keeping warm or cool for that matter.

If you're talking about Safeway, it'll probably be in the same place that it is at now. Why the heck would they move a grocery store, anyway? What are you stupid or something?
