I just got a letter from my landlords and they said I needed to mow my lawn, weed eat, and remove branches from my yard that came off in our last storm. Yes I am to take care of the yard. But it hasn't been that long since I did it before. What are my rights and what can they do to me.

We have the opportunity to buy a home that is worth $265K for $235K because we know the owners and they really need to get out of their house because of a job transfer. We don't have a down payment, this just sort of fell into our lap right now. We want to know if we can use the equity this house is coming with, as our down payment. Hope this makes sense! :-)

I dont because;

1. We dont receive regular paychecks
2. We spend lots of time and money without making money to make money.
3. We help greddy owners avoid getting their butts sued.
4. We help buyers who are liars negotiate the best possible terms.
5. We help feed Escrow officers, Loan Officers, and everyone else related to the industry.

We plan on moving out when our lease is up in Oct.06,we never received a new lease to sign, but the landlord said they sent it and now is telling us we can rent month to month until we move and pay more money each month up to 4 to 6 months. I never rented before so I really don't understand any of this, also this was not in our original lease for 12mos. It only states you can rent month to month but it does not say anything about an increase of $100. or any amount for that fact, which I expected the rent to go up, but $100. plus the rent increase they are asking for according to my spouse. I have not talked to them yet but I will.

I have heard that when buying a home you can challenge some of the charges on your settlement sheet before going to closing at the title company. What charges can a buyer dispute?

I got a lease and paid 2 months security deposit to my landlord then found a roommate to share.

He was no problem except made holes in the wall without asking for permission. Total 14 holes are in the wall to put shelves, paintings, mirrors. 4 of them are so big because of attatching heavy shelves. 8 small holes on the door too.

The thing is he'll leave before the lease expire so I don't know how much landlord will take money from my security deposit for it.

In this case, how can I determine for the cost he should pay? He said he will fix for it but since the whole apt was just renovated and wall was totally no scratch and freshly painted, I doubt he can bring back the quality as it was.

I'm very worried. I appreciate any suggestion.
Thank you.

Ive never been in this situation before, and I guess not alot of others have either since I cant get a definate answer. Im not sure if the bank will send me a letter of eviction or if I will get a court date or what. I am only a renter but I would think that they would have to give me some kind of eviction notice right? My landlord is no help either, she has just kind of skipped town. I think she got involved in some bad things and used my rent money to support her new found habit.

It is a 12 room complex in NYC

My coworker is now getting 24 hours notice as to when her apartment is to be shown but is leaving for the weekend and doesnt appreciate people in the appartment without her being there.

Is she allowed under NYS law to decline an appointment due to not being there?

In the past, stuff in her place has been moved around and her cats let out (they are indoors only cats). This is the main reason why she has a problem.

So can she deny their requests if she has something reasonable going on?

I am on S.S.D. and need to find a one bedroom apartment that allows 2 cats (neutered and shots) at about $500-$650 with elec. included if possible. I have excellent referances and would like something in a quiet area. My current lease runs out on October 31st. My son was living with me which made my current rent affordable ($750) until he decided to move out on his own and now I can't really afford to stay here with the high cost of electric heat and appliances. I can do odd jobs and maintenance in exchange for cheaper rent.

I've placed a deposit on a new build property (in the UK) which won't be ready until October/November. They set a 28 day deadline to exchange contracts. I've had the survey + legal searches and have a mortgage offer coming through. The deadline is next week, and the buyers at the bottom of my chain have pulled out today. I could be stuck for at least another month. Are builders normally flexible when this happens?
