If your landlord is doing something illegal you can report him or her to the proper authorities, and they will take whatever action is necessary.

If you want to know if you can withhold rent from your landlord, you should contact a real estate attorney or reivew real estate law to determine what circumstances might provide for such action in your state. There are websites that might have such information.

I'm confused. How do you fire your landlord? I guess you could fire him by moving - you'll know longer be paying him. Good Luck!
