No, not unless you notify the landlord and they do not fix the conditions. Then you would want to prove you did not cause the mice-- like dirty living conditions-- and take lots of picutres of your chewed on stuff, mice droppings, etc, as well as keeping all copies of your WRITTEN notification of the mice.

You have to first contact the owners, or operatores and givwe trhem a chance to rid the apartment of the mice. It's a lenghthy thing, you might contact them and expalin it ti them and feel them out about leaving. they may have someone waiting.
also check your lease and be sure you yourself are not responsible for the mice problem. (many lease require the leaseor to control pests, or it may be the building ssuperintendent who is required to remove pests.
Read your lease. By law it is required to show you the reasons you can ternminate a lease, and if it doesn't contact the city and state as to the renters rights.

Talk to the landlord about getting rid of the mice. Mice in the apartment isn't on enough of a scale to get rid of your contract for free.

Not likely for mice. Call the landlord. The owner should be responsible for paying an exterminator

I think you need to contact the super or landlord and give them the opportunity to get an exterminator in quickly. If the problem persists i would then read the lease and see what my options were.

NOT A SIMPLE ANSNER
IF you can prove it, mice can be a violation that permits you to not pay your rent. The landlord will apppear in court and prove he has an exterminator.
Rents have goine up, most landlords are happy to let you move out with noice so they can re-rent it

No. You need to read your lease to see who is responsible for vermin. It could be you or it could be your landlord. Somewhere in your lease it is probably spelled out. Frankly, I'd just put out poison or traps and get rid of them.

No. It's NYC, just be lucky they are mice and not rats. Call your landlord and he will put in mice poison for you.

I lived in NY too, I just got a cat. Buy mouse traps. I used to think it was gross, but I bought the sticky kind, the mouse walks on it and gets stuck. Then you let it lose.

First tell your landlord. If they do not do anything about it then get in contact with a lawyer and see if it is possible. Usually they will do free consultations.
