I have a paid $10,000 federal tax lien on my credit. The IRS placed the lien on there last year and just a few months ago, I was finally able to pay them off. On my credit it shows as released.

I have heard at ocassions that sometimes you can dispute an entry on your credit report and if the reporting agency does not respond within 30 day, the entry is removed from your credit file.

My question to you guys is, what would happen if I were to dispute the tax lien? Considering the IRS is paid, would they even bother to respond? How does this work?

My payment was due on the 13th, but I haven't been able to make the payment due to a family emergency. I am planning on making the payment on October 1st, when I get my annuity money, but until then I have no way to pay it. I have not ever been this late on my payment, but am worried that they will come take my car. How quickly after a missed payment can they repo my car legally? I live in Ohio.

I went before the judge today to contest the garnishment and before I could say anything he basically said that he was letting the company go through with the garnishment. Then he basically told me to get out afterward. My question is who do I talk to to get my side of the story out that this the wrong amount that they are trying to get from me and basically do what I was trying to do today and contest this garnishment.

I just ordered a new bed from Littlewoods (a much needed necessity).
I chose the option of paying £9.98 a week for 20 weeks.

In the direct debit screen on the website it says to either choose minimum payment or full payment? What is the difference?

Is minmum payment the £9.98 and full payment the full price of the bed? Or is the full payment the £9.98.

This is my first time ordering from a catalog so I'm a bit confused and I can't find anywhere on the site that explains the difference :/

xx

my girlfriend just told me she has about 13 grand in credit card debt. a year ago i gave her 3 grand of my hard earned money to help her with her debt and it went down to about 5 grand. now its ballooned up to 13 grand even after i gave her 3 grand. i dont know what to do now. i want to help her but im afraid if i give her money, she's just gonna take advantage and use it and spend even more. we were thinking about getting married but this has me very concerned. i'm really doubting if marriage can work.

When my financial advisor pulled up my credit report, for some reason my mom's credit report comes up instead of mine. My mom and I have very similar names, which is probably why it happened. But all of the information on the report that pulls up (my moms) correctly identifies my mom, without a mistake. How do I go about correcting it so that my report comes up when its pulled and not my mom's info?

My wife went in to have a hospital test done. I asked them up front how much it would cost and even though it was a standard procedure they couldn't tell me. They wanted me to just pay a little and I said I wanted to pay it all up front, so I wrote them a check for $400. A month later I got a check because I overpayed about $30. Then 2 months later I got another check for around the same amount. I had pretty much forgotten about the first check by then and didn't think anything of it. Now about 4 months later they call me saying I OWE them $30. First off I don't owe anything. I paid up front and it was their accounting mistake that was the problem, but they are trying to blame me saying they'll put it on my wife's credit report and tried to accuse us of calling them to have a duplicate check written. I don't mind paying any bill that I owe but the fact that they are being accusing and I have to pick up the slack for their mistake and also I ultimately lose out if I don't pay

After trying to find ways to be able to take care of our responsibilities we have come to the last resort and that is to file bankruptcy. We don't own any homes or any real property. what I am curious about is which is better chapter 7 or chapter 13. We want to be able to start saving a soon as it done and when feesible start rebuilding credit. Our credit card debt is only $1200 which is a lot, but it could be worse. We just had two bad years with this one being the worse. I am looking for advice on the best way to go between the two. Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 and why.

We are not happy about doing this as we have tried everything. We don't have anything of value and we have tried to pawn stuff but couldn't get $25.00 for most. We live very modestly. So please do not answer this question if you are going to be negative.

Thank you so much. We want to do the right thing so we can start over and never have to do this again.

I frequently receive calls from a law firm regarding a Capitalone credit card balance that they say I owe. I sent them a written request for more information about my alleged debt and they sent back a copy of the credit card statements, along with the application (which had a social security number that did NOT match mine).

I feel uncomfortable providing them with my social security number (even though this will clear my name), but am I required to do so in order to clear this mess up? They can send all the letters they want but at the end of the day I know this isn't tied to my SS#, so is it OK not to disclose this info since I know it won't affect my credit report?

I'm on this site about once every week or so. I see all these people posting questions about how/where to get a loan when they have bad credit. Do they ever consider that they don't handle credit well (hence the poor score) and should not seek additional debt obligations?

I currently have been in my home for a year now. My monthly house payment is 786.13/month with home insurance NOT included. I have 2 small kids and one due in a couple of months, my husband is the only one working. We tried to refinance a couple of months ago the only thing that stopped us was we did not have money set aside just in case something happend to hubbies job we can make a couple more payment. we currently have a ARM rate at 11.04 & YES I KNOWOUTRAGES. If we have money set aside now do you think it would be ok to try to refinance again. We have ok credit, i think its in the 641 on my part. we dont have NO defaults on there. Would someone give me some advice on this. Thanks
