i have contacted the credit card endlessly, and i am being told that my claim is being declined. I never activated the card and have not used it for over a year, I had a zero balance on it, I never made the purchases they claim I did, I still have the card with the activation sticker attached. I am being called demanding payment, everytime I call they give the same answer, that a manager is going to call me but they never do. Sometimes when I call, they hang up on me. I dont know what else to do. Help me!!

I am an American citizen living in Europe. I've been to the website to order my free credit report but it always tells me that I must be in the US to do it. Am I going to have to wait until I visit to do it, or what?

After how many months should you call and ask for a credit limit increase? I got a MC 3 months ago, have always made payments on time, and want to increase my limit by an additional 2,500.

Okay so I am trying to get my first credit card... I want to build up good credit considering I currently have NO credit...
My problem is that I have applied for a couple of credit cards and got turned down because I do not have ANY credit history. So my problem is that I want to build up my credit but to get some credit cards you must have past credit history which I don't have...
What are some credit cards that you would suggest as a first credit card that have pretty good reward programs???

This month I did not receive a reminder to check my statement. They keep sending you email to enroll solely in electronic communication so you have no record.

I always pay in full and on time and I use the maximum of their rewards programs, so I'm probably not a profitable customer for them. With all the financial trouble lately, I wouldn't be surprised if someone in the chain 'ordered' someone to do something. I know Chase and Citibank are the type of companies where bottom line is very important and if a fraction of the people don't reverse / notice the charge, then it would be very profitable for the particular group in this financial quarters results.

Anyone notice this? You can google credit card stories on how they will wait until the last minute to post your payment, so they can hit you with the fees.

This to me seems like a good way to also do it. "We sent the email, our records say! Pay the late fee!"

And yes I checked my junk mail box.

I just had a unauthorized charge to my credit card because of a cooking item i ordered from a tv infomercial. I did order the gadget, but canceled a few hours later. I thought all was well, till i just checked my account balance. They took money out more then 2 months after i canceled. I have not received anything from them and didnt not want anything. What can i do? I used a debit card if that helps. It's Sunday,so no-one is answering their phone.I'll call tomorrow but hoping someone here had some advice.

My ex and I are still married, though we've been separated for over 2 years. We bought the house that he has when we were married, though my credit was iffy at that time and I am not on the mortgage information.

I am severely in debt and am looking to file chapter 7 bankruptcy. I am on the deed to the house, but not on the mortgage. Does my filing bankruptcy put the house that he lives in at risk? Also, I'm filing for divorce on Tuesday and am giving him the house in the divorce.

I want to ensure that if I go into bankruptcy court they can't take my ex's house from him. I am also on the joint bank account that he has, but I'm going to go to the bank with him shortly to have my name taken off of it.

Any information on this would be appreciated. If I sign a quit claim deed for the house does that stop them from being able to take his house? What's the process?

Thanks

I have only one credit card and it is for medical bills only. Right now we are struggling a bit. I am a payment behind w/ this credit card so now they are calling constantly, even on weekends, as early as 8am & as late as 9pm. They call everyday & everyday I tell them the same thing. I don't have the extra money to pay it right now so they will just have to wait.

I don't really understand how e-bay works. So, lets say i want to bid on an auction. I made a PayPal account, and i have a credit card. i click on 'Place a Bid' button, and than what happens? The money from my credit card is transfered to the buyers credit card/or bank account, and he sends me the object? And making a PayPal account is free? NOTE:i want only to buy things, NOT to sell.
Thanks to everyone who answer.

Today many companies aside from lending insitutions rely on credit scores to access their risk. These companies include car insurance agencies, jobs, apartments, utilities, etc... Should this be allowed to persist? Should a credit score preclude a person from employment? Too me this doesn't seem right, or how the credit system was supposed to be used. Yes, if someone has a bad credit score they shouldn't be eilgble for loans and credit cards, but why should that impact your employment prospects or how much you pay for insurance? What if a person is a terrible and dangerous driver, but has good credit? I think the credit system should be reformed or done away with if it can't be used in a responsible way. What do you think?

The situation is that customers run up relatively small bills that vary from month to month (less than $100 but it is seldom the exact same sum every month) and to avoid having to deal with collecting from slow payers (and deadbeats), I was thinking about have customers just give a blanket authorization. Any suggestions you might have (and also suggested wording for the authorization) would be appreciated. Thanks!
