im going to the states tommorow and with the canadian dollar the same as the amercanin, does anyone know if i use mastercard to buy stuff i will i get dollar to dollar??

The credit card company has its own rate based on monthly wall street jounal for the foreign currency exchange, plus fees( 1% to 3%). So you can't get rate exactly as the rate today.

You'll be billed in your mastercard according to your local currency. If you're from Canada, all your purchases will be converted to Canadian dollars in your billing. You'd normally lose a few centavoes on the conversion but it's very minimal. It's a good price to pay for safety rather than bringing too much cash.
