I agree with other user. Annualcreditreport.com is a secure site to go and get your free credit report once each year. I've been doing it for the last 2 years.

You should look for a site that will you to check all three. Most consumers are surprised to find that all three reports can be very different with some containing errors and missing information. If you're applying for a mortgage, they will likely check all three, so it's best to have them all error free and current.
Also, the only true score is the Fico score and you can obtain that from myficoscore.com. The scores provided by the major credit bureaus are only an estimate and don't use the true Fico scoring model.
Good luck.

You can always build credit. Perhaps you have a low fico score simply because you've never had credit, or had something in your past. Also, I believe anytime someone checks your credit, It may affect your score, so If you have applied for credit and been denied, it may bring your score down. I've included a link that has credit cards for bad credit. Usually they're not quite as good as those for excellent credit but once you start making regular payments your credit should improve. Sometimes it's just hard to get credit started.

AnnualCreditReport.com is the site to get your free credit report from each of the three credit bureaus. Other sites require you to sign up for monitoring services. The reports are free by the credit score will cost an additional fee -- $6 to $8.
If you are strictly interested in your score, go to MyFICO.com. There is a charge by the FICO score is the only one that matters. The credit bureaus have their own scoring methods.

In my experience using myFico which is the main source of your fico/credit score is the best way to go, the other 3 are really just reporting agencies (experian, equifax, transunion) the problem is that they usually dont have all your credit report records so they will have different items listed... myfico will be able to give you all three and plus some resources for your credit score.

Equifax.com is my preferred method - it is very clear and shows how various factors contribute to your actual score. Experian.com is an alternative but this is less user friendly and not as clear. Both cost around the same although last time I used experian you had to join and pay monthly, whereas equifax allows one off rates.

They all report the essential data. If you are buying property, contact the bank where you are getting the loan from and see which one they use. That would be the one that I would use.
