I wanted to know how long should I hang onto a payment plan that I have on my motorcycle. Is it like a car and you should hang onto it for at least 2 years. The loan is through Kawaski credit so its on like a credit card. I was wondering should I pay it off as soon possible. Please note your sources!

My mom financed a car for me last year. She is the primary person on the account, and I was a co-signer, because I had just graduated from college and didn't have a good job yet. Now I am finacially settled, have good credit, and have paid all but $3,200 of the $7,000 loan back. The monthly payment is $140.00, but I have been paying at least twice that every month since I have been working because there is no early repayment penalty and the car loan has the highest interest rate of all my debt at 6.0%. She wants to sell the home I grew up in to buy an empty nesters townhome for herself. She wants to take out a mortgage for this, and I am worried that the loan she took out for me will affect her ability to get a good mortgage rate. Should I refinance my car so that it is in my name? Should I roll it in to a debt consolidation loan with my student loans (only other debt)? Is $3,200 at $140.00/ mo too small of an amount to affect the mortgage rate that she will qualify for?

Is that legal? The person added to my card wasn't even a family member, but a friend of the family. A couple years ago he co-signed on a car loan for me, but I'd had the credit card a couple years before that. How can the credit card company just add someone's name to my account without authorization on my part and without having the addee sign a document as well? How can that be legal? Any steps I should take other than getting the name taken off the card?

I have about 10, but they're all VERY diffferent. charge card, gas card, rewards card, store card, debit, on and on.

The ONLY negative is that I opened them all within a year's period, which I'm sure is destroying my credit score.

However, is there a limit as to how many you can have?

I mean there are THOUSANDS of lenders out there, and many cards especially nowadays.

Having ONLY one or two credit cards in this day and age, I'm sorry, but is unrealistic and backwards.

The good ol'days of saving, paying everything in cash, and what not are over.

How can having multiple accounts hurt your score, when that just proves that you can handle more (that is if you actually can handle it), and it means you have more money to work with.

Even though this proves a risk, if you go years without abusing it, isn't that proving that you're a great candidate to do business with?

Seems common sense to me.

Anyways, someone with some knowledge please respond.

I filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy that was discharged over 3 years ago. Before I filed for bankruptcy, I had a car repossessed. I am now thinking about buying a new car, and aside from the bankruptcy, my credit is really good (731 FICO score). The repossession was included in the bankruptcy, and it doesn't appear on my credit report from any of the 3 bureaus. But I know when you fill out an application for credit, they ask if you have any repossessions. Do I need to tell them about the repossession, or am I not obligated to disclose it because it was included in the bankruptcy? Also, can I qualify for those 0% offers that say your credit score has to be 720 or above, or would I not qualify because of the bankruptcy?

One of my best friends and I got into huge credit card debt about, where we could not pay four years ago. we were up to about 30k each. I had them just about go into to charge off, where i work full time and a part time job to keep up. Now i owe about 9k. My credit is crap. Now Jan my friend has married a successful business man that has good credit. She told me that she has not paid a dime, she claims that all of here debt is now passed the SOL of south carolina. She said that heck my credit is junk but i will not get sued. Thats why i got on the ball with my situation because i was threaten of being sued all the time.

I got my first credit card when I was 26. It had a limit of $500. It was laughable.
When I was young, in my early 20s, it was a time of very fluid pocket money. I lived with my parents, didn't pay rent, and didn't have a lot of bills. So I had a lot of pocket money. Of course, I was limited to buying things in my price range....if I went out to eat, it was usually Chinese. If I bought a car, it was used, you know the drill. I didn't have credit when I was young, but I had pocket cash....mostly because I didn't have bills to pay, not because I was rich.
What was it like for you?

My credit is terrible all of a sudden because I did not repay my student loans in time because I was still IN SCHOOL. So now I have a poor rating, a delinquincy on that and on another credit card which was brought to a collection company and am now paying them every month and will be gone in 8 months. I have 8 open credit card accounts and my student loans are now on forbearance. 4 cards are paid off and I was thinking about paying in full the rest of the amount owed on all four cards which equals about $4,000. How long will it take for my score to start going up if I payed it off today, had no debt whatsoever(besides my car) and closed 5 of my newer credit card accounts?

I recently looked at my credit report and there was showing that I owed A cable company some money, But I never had service with them. This is really affecting my credit what can I do to remove this from my report? Will I have to pay someone to remove it or is it possible to do it for free? I don't want to put money into something I never even applied for to begin with.
