First thing you need is a job. Then once you have a pay check open a checking account. Save your money and pay with cash. Credit cards will get you into trouble. Most banks offer a debit card with a checking account, but rememeber you have to have money in your account to use it. Good Luck

You can't legally apply for a credit card until you are 18. I would not advise it. Credit card debt is not good for a young person. It is not very good for anyone, but it has become a part of adult life for many.
A debit card will be issued when you are 18, for use with your checking account, if you do not have one already.

you will need $100 and a state ID to open an account, I'm not sure if you will need your parents with you but I don't think so. Go into the bank and tell them you need a checking account with a debit/credit card.
they can give you a temporary card until you actual debit/credit card arives in the mail.

you personally can't get one until you are of legal age and have a job. Your parents can put your name on one of their credit cards if they have one, but you cannot.

for debit just go to the bank (on a weekday) and go up to the teller and say "I'd like to open a Debit account." They'll hook you up from there.

If you are under age then its better for you to ask your parents for second card, this is if you really wanted to have a creditcard. My advice is for you not to get any creditcard as this will give you headache one day.
