I have several Charge-offs on my credit report. May they be removed after several years?

yes if you do dispute them it will be removed from your report within a week. but if you dont do anything the charge off accounts will remain on your report for 7+years.

You can dispute anything on your credit report at any time. Just because you file a dispute, though, doesn't mean the charge-offs will be removed from your credit report. The credit bureaus will contact the creditors, who will then have to prove that the debt is valid. If it is a valid debt, the charge-off will remain on your credit report. If it is a mistake, or if the creditor doesn't respond in the allowed amount of time, it will be removed.

You may dispute anything BUT ,
Only information that is false will be removed .
If you demonstrate it was NOT your debt , for example ,
They will remove it .
Otherwise , valid info stays for 7 years from the date of the last activity .

You can dispute them if they are errors. If they are legit, the only way to get them removed early would be to get the creditor to delete for payment.

if you dispute your charges they will invistigate if they exist or not so pretty much if they are real they will stay there until you pay theme even after many years

Yes if disbuted. Most companies will not fight a disbute do to the cost and effort involved.

how can you dispute them if they are real? You had your chance to take care of them before they reached that point.
