How much debt do you already have? It could be you just have too much debt.

If you are carrying balances on credit cards, pay that down to below 30% -- paying off completely is better. If you have a lot of credit card debt, work on paying the card off one at a time, highest interest rate first. Throw every penny you can squeeze out of your budget on that highest interest rate card, while paying minimum on the rest. When the highest is paid off, move to the next.

Get copies of your credit report. Dispute any errors to the credit bureau. If you have negatives, work on negotiating settlement. Start with the newest one and work backwards. Get any settlement agreement in writing and don't give them access to your checking account.

Everytime you apply for credit, your report gets pulled and it dings your score. If you have a lot of credit inquiries in a short period, it's a big drop in score.

Best way to improve your credit is a consistent, on time payment record of 2 years. The longer the better.

You just have a lack of credit... quit applying for credit because you'll keep getting turned down and add inquiries to your credit which will keep lowering your score... You're getting denied because you don't have any established credit. You can't establish credit until someone gives you a chance... That is the age-old dilema.

There are some "bad/no" credit cards out there. They all suck and will charge you high fees. Unless someone with good credit is willing to cosign you have to pay the piper eventually. Google "bad credit" credit cards and you'll find a ton. Orchard Bank is the most decent out there. You'll get a small small, half of it will be used up in "fees" and a high interest rate. Get a few of these cards.

Another route is a "secured" credit card. You can get them from any bank / credit union. If you have say $1000, go get two cards for $500 each. Charge up $200 on each card and make the minimum payment for 6-12 months. It will build you credit... You have to be in debt to build credit. Just having credit cards with no balances will not do you any good,

If you have a job, try to get a car loan. Find a cheap car (less than 10K), put down maybe $1000-1500 and finance the rest. A car is a major piece of credit. It will build your credit the quickest.

Only other way is to find a trusting cosigner w/ good credit / your parents to cosign on a couple cards.

I know this stinks but if you are smart and pay your bills you'll have A+ credit in a couple years.

Sounds like you must have a credit card problem. What I did was when you get mail from other credit cards company giving you a low percent for a balance transfer, I call that company and transfer my money, so most of what I pay is going to the actual balance and not interest. When that period ends (sometimes its that percent for 6 months) then call another credit card company and see if you can do another balance transfer. If you have more than one card, try to get everything on one card ( doing a balance transfer).

You can clean up that credit yourself. I used a do it yourself kit I got at www.creditrepair101site.com and did it with relative ease. Good luck.
