Do you still have a balance on the card? Does the card have a monthly fee? Does it have an annual fee? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you've figured out why you're still paying for this credit card.

Read the fine print before you sign up for a credit card. Know all the details before using a card.

If you have paid the credit card off to the full amount of what was owed then you should not be getting billed by the credit card company. Call them - look on the back of the card for the 800 number - to find out what's going on. Make sure to write down the name of the person you talk to and make notes of what was said to you. Don't be shy about asking questions. Request a written confirmation of what was said to you. You have the right to know why you are being billed for charges you did not incur. If you have to write to the credit card company be sure to keep a copy of your letter and of all correspondence between you and the insurance company. Get hard copies by snail mail. Do not do this via email.

It is not entirely clear by your description what your situation is, so it is difficult to answer. I assume that you spent to the limit of the card (lets say $5000.00 for the sake of example). If you paid back $5000.00 to the credit card company and no more, then you are being billed for the interest that accrued during the period that you paid it off. Some credit cards charge interest from the day of the purchase so even if you pay it off the same month, interest will still accrue.

You have to pay the interest that is a part of your balance. For every dollar you spend with the credit card, you are being billed interest. Credit card companies make money from interest they collect from you.

It could be that your payment and the billing crossed in the mail. Contact your cc company.
