I don't like going out and looking for employment, especially when I am out of work. I just despise looking for employment. Is there a way to make it more likeable or motivational when looking for employment?

i turn 16 on september 3rd. ive needed a job for some time now but i dont want your typical "would you like fries with that" occupation. i babysit here and there, i do yard work and help clean peoples houses for some pretty good cash...but i think its time for something more stable. so can anyone give me some job ideas? heres a list of what i DONT want

* fast food jobs
* mini market/grocery store jobs
* servant/maid jobs (they get very annoying very quick)
* online selling junk...thats retarded
* no 'start your own business' stuff...i have neither the time nor the money

i wish that i could get a job as like a clerk or something...something that involves paperwork and would put my brain to good use. but i dont know of any jobs i can get being as young as i am

anyone have any clues?

Why would a national Non Profit job ask who financed your education?
There is no opportunity for continuing education at the job. Meaning the organization will not pay for anyone to go back to school

I got a job this week working for a web developer/e-commerce business. They needed a "college student" to finish a "quick IT/Networking" project. Basically, their IT guy quit, and left the place a mess.

I have already completed wiring the network throughout the building, and everyone is up and running. They have asked me to organize some of the hardware and software, as it was previously a mess.

Currently, it seems, I am employed project to project, I would like to stay on with this company but I am primarily a web-designer, does anyone know of any techniques, or have any advice on how I make the transition from, the guy sorting through boxes in the corner to a new designer?

I am sure I am slightly less qualified than their other designers (not totally familiar with Flash, etc), but are there any techniques I can use to sell the attributes I do have?

I'm wondering what industry I should try to get my foot into. I recently became a single mom to an 8 month old. I need to work full time, but I have no real experience, nor do I have a college degree.

I've had experience with web design, Photoshop, and other things internet-related. I have also done more than a few years in the "fast food" industry (which I am NOT going back to). I've been a housekeeper for a resort management company. But I'm getting laid off at the end of the summer season, and I need full-time work that pays more than minimum wage!!

I don't even know where to begin to look for jobs, I am working on a resume, no matter how small... Right now, it looks like I'm going to have to strip or something to make above minimum wage (eeuuww).

Any suggestions, for how to find a GOOD job, with little or no experience besides what I've listed??

All answers are appreciated.

it just doesn't pertain to someone who sells a lot. it means making a customer happy with how you assisted them with their purchase or concern.

I was wondering if anyone here is studying to become an Ultrasound Technician. I'm looking into going into a part of the medical field when I graduate(still a freshman but I want to start thinking about it so I can base my plan around it.) If you are, can you tell me how long you'd have to be in college, if you must go to another school after a four year college, and if you know, which schools are best for this area?

Also, if you are an Ultrasound Technician, then I'd appreciate any opinions or advice you have. I'm really interesting in working with something involving pregnancy. Thank you so much.

What is the maximum hours and what is the minimum?

Does it depend on the company?

I've read that forty hours and above is considered full-time (but I haven't really looked into this).

I'm going to be a freshman in college (full-time student) and I just got a job. It's in the airport and I only have two other coworkers. They want me to work for four days, eight hours every week. That comes to 32 hours. Do you think that's too much for a full-time student?

I don't think I'll be able to handle that.

just started this job & I was hired to eventually be the supervisor of the office. Well it has been a rough couple of weeks adjusting to the new job & I vented about the current boss & just the job to an employee that has been there for many years & who was basically passed over for the promotion to supervisor (for which I was hired). This person was reprimanded today for telling me she wanted to quit, & I told management, but today instead of her a tongue lashing from the owner, she blurts out about what I wrote on a blog. She did not give details, but she basically said I posted a blog about the current supervisor. I am wondering if when they do actually fire her, will she let it all out? I went and spoke to the supervisor about this & was up front about EVERYTHING, & the supervisor told me that this is the norm of what this person does. She tries to avoid any responsibility by focusing on others. I am afraid she will give all info when they do decide to fire her. Any advice?

I have 12 years as a Paramedic and the company sent me an e-mail recruiting me for a 10,000 sign on bonus and 50K + per year. I was told today that i will start at the bottom and they only recognize the experience Of Paramedics that have worked and put the time in at their company. After adding up the offered pay it does not add up to 50k it is 44K. What should i do ? What should i tell them?

I always read in career publications that you must ALWAYS negotiate your salary, even if you are happy with their number, because hiring managers expect it and lowball you on purpose. I also know you're never supposed to give an exact number, but I was pressured on the interview and gave them a range.

Can I still negotiate if they offer me more than I asked for? Can I play the "I have a higher offer card" or is that a dangerous game to play?
