i turn 16 on september 3rd. ive needed a job for some time now but i dont want your typical "would you like fries with that" occupation. i babysit here and there, i do yard work and help clean peoples houses for some pretty good cash...but i think its time for something more stable. so can anyone give me some job ideas? heres a list of what i DONT want

* fast food jobs
* mini market/grocery store jobs
* servant/maid jobs (they get very annoying very quick)
* online selling junk...thats retarded
* no 'start your own business' stuff...i have neither the time nor the money

i wish that i could get a job as like a clerk or something...something that involves paperwork and would put my brain to good use. but i dont know of any jobs i can get being as young as i am

anyone have any clues?

my skills? ive been taking business computer classes for the last 3 years in school and this year im taking a computer programming class. im smart, all honors. can retain information really well. im thourough and do things correctly. ive taken some college courses in social sciences soo i guess knowing that stuff is a skill...i guess those are my skills?

i mean if youre talking about like what am i good at? that isnt going to help me with a job at all lol...about the only things im good at involve dirt bikes and various other water and motorsports. i guess i could be a mechanic but i doubt anybody would hire a 16 year old girl to work on their car...i dont blame them i mean...i wouldnt either lol

How about a nurses' aid? I worked in a nursing home when I turned 16 and stayed there until I graduated from college. It was very rewarding and decent pay.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but the things you've listed is what most young employees need to do at first. Before most "good" jobs will hire you, you need to get some experience that show a good work ethic. By the way a lot of paperwork jobs aren't very difficult so you may become bored with them fast too. My advice get a job, any job at this point and work towards a better one.

I'll give you kudos though for wanting to put your brain to work.

Inquire about a position as a erran boy, or mail clerk at your local county or city law firm. Once you get your feet into the door and get to know everyone your position will change as you mature and gain experience.

My cousin started with a big law firm in New Jersey as a mail clerk. He was 17 years old running errands, working in their mail room and he brought home $600.00 every week..that was his net pay!

That maybe something you might want to look into. Hey, it can't hurt to inquire about a position like that!

well you did not say if you were in school or not or if you are on summer vacation still.if you have not finished school,which i doubt there is nothing more important than that.finish school and do your very best and then go to college.because unless you want crappy jobs the rest of your life you must be educated!at 16 with no skills or training or education all the jobs you don't want are the only ones you will be considered for! stay in school! good luck.

What about a desk clerk at a hotel/motel? Honestly most office setting type jobs you do have to at least be 18 and have your HS diploma or GED. Even cashiers you have to at least be 18 years old. How about a waitress? You can make good tips. Good Luck!
