I have an group interview on Thursday, but the place I applied to said that it was full and asked me if I wanted to try at another place. I said sure, but I was unaware of the fact that it was considerably farther. Now I don't want it, but I've already said yes. Should I just not attend? It's not really a big deal. (just a little summer job)

I currently work at a corporation run restaurant. I started in the kitchen and within 8 months have learned things that people there years have never learned. I'm the hardest worker and I'll be graduating college in under a year. The assistant general manager and the regional supervisor ABOVE the general manager of the restaurant are both on board with me becoming an assistant manager. However, the general manager of this restaurant is taking his time and is trying to make things seem fair because I've advanced so quickly; even though I deserve it. I've contemplated designing a written paper to my general manager voicing all of the opinions and facts that are surrounding every reason why I should be getting this promotion. Does anyone have any ideas for me? The restaurant is Vinny T's of Boston, if that helps anyone.

NOT a pharmacist. I want to make the drugs, not distribute them. I'm going to Rutgers School of Engineering next year and I'm only allowed to pursue engineering majors. For Biomedical Engineering, there is a pre-med program. On the website of Chemical Engineering, it says a related occupation would be a pharmacologist. Choosing engineering majors only, what is the path to become a pharmacologist? Thankyou in advance.

Does it offer job availability/stability?

I always hear about corporate america workers getting laid off, but at the same time all the people I know who don't live paycheck too paycheck are practically people who work in corporate america...it really confuses me!

I'm currently job searching for a graphic design position. I wonder if my having a nose piercing would deter a potential employer from hiring me. Consider the grounds, business dress atmosphere, professional looking female with the skills and everything you're looking for in the specific position. Would a nose stud change your mind? Please explain your answer, if it's yes or no.

We moved this weekend. It had been planned for months. Friday night my husband's employer asked him to work Saturday night 3-midnight. Because he IS such a loyal, honest employee, he went to work despite the fact that we had to move. Around 9:30 pm, another employee crashed his forklift into my husband's. They sent them both to a drug test at Care Now. But, it was closed when he got there (they close at 8 or 9 pm). The next day, he went to take the drug test, but the place was close AGAIN- despite the fact that his "referral sheet" said the hours were from 10 am to 6 pm, and it was just after 5 pm when we arrived. So, he went yesterday. (The entire two days he continually checked in with his "lead man" and his "lead man" repeatedly told him that he "got his back" and not to worry.
Today, he showed up for work and they said he was being "let go" for refusing to take the drug test.
Is there absolutely no recourse for this injustice? Please help!! We need his job and his insurance!

I have accepted a job with the enemy of my current employer - whom I previously worked for. This past employer and I have thoroughly discussed all the issues we had between us as a result of my leaving his employ and going with my current employer. I am so afraid to tell my current employer that I am leaving to go back to my former boss....He can become very angry and I know that all the hard work I've done, and all the praise he has given me up to this point will mean nothing once I tell him. Does anyone have any suggestions for the most tactful way and the kindest way to handle this? I am several years older than my present boss. We don't have a bad relationship - just not a lot in common. I know he is very pleased to have me working for him and will never be convinced that this is not a mistake. The new position represents an increase in pay and a few other pluses- otherwise, the jobs are comparable. Thanks.

I started seeing a reflexologist last month, I had an Indian Head Massage to relieve Migrane. I had made an appointment to go back to her this month but couldnt make it as my nan, who is 90, was rushed into hospital. I didnt let my reflexologist know as obviously I had more important things on my mind.
I recieved a letter from her today with an invoice for the full amount of the treatment!! She also writes that if I call her to book another appointment she will reduce the missed appointment fee by 50%. Isnt this blackmail??

She dosnt state anywhere on her website that if you miss an appointment you will still be charged.

What should I do?
