I work at a factory, and I found out we have to work on July 4th. We are off the 5th and 6th. I know I have to work on the 4th to get the 5th and 6th paid for. My question is, will we get holiday (time 1/2) pay for working on the 4th? I work at a place that is union. Thank you!

Depends on the union contract. There's no law that says you have to be given premium pay for a holiday, but most union contracts would have it covered - if yours does, then yes, you get the premium pay.

Yes, I think you should get time and 1/2 for working on July 4. Your union should take care of that for you.

Peace and blessings!

Yes, you should. My brother works for Coors (he's union) and he got time and a half for the 4th the last 2 years.

check your employee handbook. No one here could possibly tell you what your companies policies are.
